I'm walking where the road lacks light
My hand holds a torch for a love lost
All the years it has been steady
How is it when I hear these tempting thoughts,
These hands begin to shake?
Daring me to let the torch fall to the ground
Accusing me of cowardice, rightfully so
For I have been stuck in a fantasy world
An idea that is all but a mirage,
"Drop the torch" they compel me.
I hear whispers floating in the air
The voice of reason rises
Suddenly 'tis is all my ears can hear
"There's a much brighter light than the torch you hold"
The time has arrived
To bid farewell to the torch
To see the light at the end of the tunnel
To say "hello to a new, brighter world"
